How do I get the AI working?

Go to the Setup tab (last tab, gear icon). Tap Download next to any model. The download requires Wi-Fi and ~2.5–5 GB of free storage. Once downloaded, tap Load to activate the model. Then go to the AI Chat tab and start asking questions.

Which model should I download?

• Gemma 3 4B — Best quality, best soccer knowledge. Recommended for iPhone 15 / 16 series.
• Llama 3.2 3B — Faster, uses less storage. Good for iPhone 12–14 or when storage is limited.
• Qwen 2.5 3B — Best for non-English fans (Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic, etc.).

Does the AI work without internet?

Yes — that's the whole point! Once a model is downloaded and loaded, all AI chat works completely offline. You can use it in stadiums, on the subway, in remote areas, and anywhere with no signal.

The download is very slow or failing

1. Make sure you're on Wi-Fi (models are 2.5–5 GB)
2. Check that you have enough free storage (Settings → General → iPhone Storage)
3. If the download fails, tap Download again — it will resume from where it stopped
4. Some hotel/venue Wi-Fi blocks large downloads — try a different network

The AI is slow to respond

On-device AI inference speed depends on your iPhone model. iPhone 15 Pro / 16 series are fastest (Neural Engine). Older iPhones may take 30–60 seconds per response. You can switch to a smaller model (Llama 3.2 3B or Qwen 2.5 3B) for faster responses.

The model loaded but the app is slow / crashing

1. Close other apps to free up RAM (large models need 4–6 GB RAM)
2. Restart your iPhone and reopen the app
3. In the Setup tab, tap Unload and then Load again
4. If issues persist, try a smaller model

Match schedules seem wrong or outdated

Match data is embedded in the app and reflects the official FIFA 2026 schedule at the time of release. If FIFA changes a match time or venue, we will update the app. Enable automatic app updates in the App Store to always have the latest data.

How do I delete a downloaded model?

Go to the Setup tab, find the model you want to remove, and tap the Delete (trash) button. This frees up the storage used by that model.

How do I post a ticket in the Fan Zone?

Go to the Fan Zone tab → Tickets → tap the + button in the top right. Fill in your match, seat info, price, and contact method. Your listing will appear in the community board.

I want to turn off ads or tracking

Go to iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → SoccerFan AI and toggle off. You'll still see ads, but they won't be personalised. To remove ads entirely, there is currently no paid option — ads keep the app free for all fans.
