BackdropAI Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 11, 2026
BackdropAI ("we", "our", "the app") helps you create professional product photos by removing backgrounds and applying studio scenes. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.
What we process
- Product photos you capture or select are sent to the remove.bg API to generate a transparent-background cutout. Images are not stored on our servers after processing.
- Usage counts (edits per day) are stored locally on your device only — we never see them.
We do not require an account. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or precise location.
Third-party services
- remove.bg — cloud API used to remove product photo backgrounds. Your photo is transmitted securely over HTTPS. See remove.bg's privacy policy at remove.bg/privacy.
- Google AdMob — serves ads within the app and may collect device identifiers and usage data. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Apple App Store / TestFlight — for distribution only.
Advertising (AdMob)
BackdropAI uses Google AdMob to serve ads and keep the app free. AdMob may use your device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS) to show relevant ads. On iOS 14.5+, we request your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before using the IDFA. You can withdraw consent at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking.
Your choices
- Revoke photo library or camera access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy → Photos / Camera.
- Clear your in-app gallery from BackdropAI → Settings → Clear gallery history.
- Opt out of personalised ads: iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking → toggle off BackdropAI.
Children
BackdropAI is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
